Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 2, 2026

Rekipt ("Rekipt", "we", "us") helps you keep track of receipts, return windows, warranties and everyday expenses. This policy explains what information the Rekipt app collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be read, not skimmed past.

The short version

Information you add to Rekipt

When you add a receipt, Rekipt stores the details you confirm: store name, items, prices, purchase date, return and warranty dates, category, the type of expense, what you decided to do with the purchase (kept or returned), the text recognized on the receipt, and the receipt photo if you took one.

Where it's stored: on your iPhone, and in a private cloud backup so your receipts survive a lost phone or a reinstall. The backup is hosted by our infrastructure provider, Supabase, in the United States. Each person's backup is tied to a private account that's created automatically on your phone, and access rules ensure only that account can read its receipts.

How receipts are read: text recognition and, on supported iPhones, Apple's on-device intelligence run entirely on your device.

Usage analytics

To understand how Rekipt is used and improve it, the app records anonymous usage events, such as opening the app, adding a receipt, marking a purchase as returned, viewing the upgrade screen, or upgrading. Events can include general details like the purchase category or whether a photo was attached. They never include store names, item names, prices, receipt text or photos.

Analytics are processed by PostHog in the United States and linked to the same random account identifier used for your backup, not to your name or email. You can turn analytics off at any time in Settings → Privacy → Share Anonymous Usage Data.

Purchases

Rekipt Pro subscriptions are sold and managed by Apple. We don't receive or store your payment details. We receive confirmation from Apple that a subscription is active.

Notifications

Reminders about return windows, warranties and the weekly summary are scheduled on your iPhone. You can turn notifications off in iOS Settings, or turn off the weekly summary in Rekipt's Settings.

What we don't do

Optional features in the future

We may later offer optional features, such as aggregated, anonymized insights about returns and warranties, or offers from partners. Any feature that uses your information in a new way will be off by default and will ask for your clear permission first.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (for example, California under the CCPA/CPRA, or the EU and UK under the GDPR), you may have additional rights, such as requesting a copy of your data or its deletion. Contact us at the address below and we'll respond within the time the law requires.

How long we keep information

We keep your receipts until you delete them or ask us to delete your account. Analytics events are kept for up to 36 months. After that, we may keep overall totals that can't be linked to any account or person.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and stored with providers that encrypt data at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit access to what's needed to run Rekipt.

Children

Rekipt isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Business transfers

If Rekipt is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. The new owner will be bound by this policy, and we'll notify you of any material change to how your information is handled.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app before they take effect.
